GROUP SHAKE is a collective solo durational movement practice. After a short introduction, we will move to music for an hour, focusing on shaking and rocking and allowing the body to move naturally--free from concerns about skill, rhythm, or appearance. Afterwards, there will be a closing circle to share anything that arose during the shake. This is a space for tending to your own body in community, without touch or interaction with others. It may resemble dancing, but the intention of this practice is to release tension and energy. Shaking is beneficial for circulation, nervous system and systemic health, and community building.
Suggested donation: $5-15, cash or venmo at the door (no one turned away for lack of funds!)
Arrival and introductory circle: 6:45-7 pm
Group Shake: 7-8 pm
Closing circle: 8-8:15 pm
